Touring Ski & Snowshoe - Decelerate step by step
Discovering the mountains step by step, even in winter, is what touring skiing offers you. It is a wonderful way to discover the winter landscape from its most beautiful side. Silence, white blankets of snow, deep snow-covered landscapes, wide views - you can experience all of this away from the pistes. Create your own personal space and a time-out with a special quality. The mountain world of the Schladming-Dachstein Region opens up unique opportunities for ski tours and snowshoe hikes of all levels of difficulty, with or without professional accompaniment. The ski mountains also offer ideal opportunities for "piste walking", combining sporting activity with a safe descent. Be there, it's worth it!
Cross-country skiing - gentle
exercise with added value
Flowing, gentle movements in the fresh winter air are a blessing for body and soul. It is a wonderful balance that you can also practise as a beginner. In nearby Ramsau am Dachstein you will find an infrastructure for Nordic sports that leaves nothing to be desired. 220 kilometres of trails for classic cross-country skiing and skating lead you across the entire high plateau - even on the Dachstein Glacier, the breathtakingly beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site, unique scenic trails await you. The two valleys Untertal and Obertal also offer impressive cross-country trails. Their fascination comes above all from the pure, almost untouched nature that you traverse with your cross-country skis.
Tobogganing - fun for{br}} kids and adults
One of our guests said after a tobogganing session that he hadn't felt so young for a long time. No wonder, with the exuberant laughter and fun while tobogganing .... On the Hochwurzen, a 7 km long toboggan run awaits you from the summit to the entrance to the new panorama gondola. Simply fantastic, what fun it is! And the best thing is - once you've arrived with the toboggan, you go straight back up to the summit with the gondola and off you go again. The special extra is a toboggan run in the evening on the continuously lit toboggan run plus a hearty stop in one of the huts.
Arrive and come down - take a deep breath ...
Yes, it really is that easy to leave your stressful day behind you here in the Schladming-Dachstein Region. It doesn't take much, because our magnificent natural landscape has a very calming effect. Many of our guests couldn't believe it until they experienced it for themselves. A walk in the pure winter landscape often works wonders to calm you down. Extensive winter hiking trails lead you across meadows covered in deep snow and through forests with bonnets of snow on the trees. The silence and the soft white create a very natural feel-good effect. Want to add a little romance on top? Then we recommend a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the winter wonderland.
Something different - trend{br}}and tradition
Fancy trying something completely different for a change? Good idea, how about cycling? You think that doesn't work so well in the snow. Then you probably haven't heard of fatbikes. They have - as the name suggests - particularly thick tyres, so you can get around effortlessly even in winter. The fatbike works particularly well on winter hiking trails. Curling has a long tradition and used to attract the whole town to the rink. Somewhat forgotten in the meantime, "Stöckln" is now very popular again - and socialising is cultivated as well.
Schladming - a
mountain town with flair
The small town in the mountains has a very long tradition and already achieved fame through its early silver mining. Schladming has made a name for itself as a host for major sporting events, such as the World Ski Championships and the Special Olympics. Nevertheless, it has retained its cosy flair and has some dreamy little squares. A stroll through the town centre with its numerous small but very fine shops and inviting gastronomy provides wonderful impressions. In the run-up to Christmas, a very attractive Advent market invites you to visit and a hike through the illuminated Talbachklamm gorge with its icy waterfalls is an unforgettable experience.
